Q: Can I use off-campus Internet connection services? |
A: NTU full-time faculty, staff and students may use the services. |
|
Q: When will I need these services? |
A: You may need them when you are at home or off-campus and would like to access the NTU Library’s E-Resources. You can also access the NTU Library’s E-Resources if you use the NTU campus network (via modem or ADSL), are NTU faculty using Computer Center VPN services, or have an NTU Medical Library HA Webmail account. |
|
Q: Please tell me step-by-step how to set my proxy server. |
A: Please go to the “NTU Library E-Resources Off-campus Connection: How to set your proxy server” webpage. |
|
Q: I have followed the steps to set my proxy, but I don’t know my username and password. |
A: You must use your ComputerCenter e-mail address and password. If you have not applied for an account yet, please apply here: http://apply.cc.ntu.edu.tw/ |
|
Q:May I use the databases? |
A: Except for CD-ROM networks on PCs, Sikuquanshu , FLYLINK, and TTSLINK, all other NTU Library E-Resources have been made available from off-campus through license agreements with the service providers. The remote symbol on searchable database and e-journal pages indicates that these links are accessible from off-campus. |
|
Q: Why can’t I still get online? |
A: If you still can’t get online, it may be due to problems with the Proxy server, the network may be experiencing difficulties, or the database or e-journal mainframe is down. For more information, please contact the NTU Library Reference and Extension Services Department.
