The chart describing distances kept between trees in the Hengchun Tropical Vegetation Nurturing Center (currently the Taiwan Forestry Research Institute’s Hengchun Tropical Vegetation Park) described a total of 42 methods of disposition. The disposition of various plants was drawn on graph paper. Each square represented one square foot. The horizontal and vertical distances between the plant varieties were different, from one foot to three jian (each jian measured six feet) and each chart also listed the numbers of each plant type. |
