Article 1
National Taiwan University (NTU or “the University”) Library (“the Library”) formulates the NTU Library Directives for Acceptance and Acknowledgements of Donations (“the Directives”) to thank people (organizations) that donate to the University or the Library.
Article 2
Donors may apply for a special library card to enjoy the Library’s resources and borrowing services. The owner of the special card may be the donor or a specific person designated by the donor. If the donor is a juridical person, any member of the juridical person may use the special card.
Article 3

As to those who donate NT$50,000 or more to support the operation of the Library, in addition to expressing gratitude in accordance with the NTU Regulations for Acceptance and Acknowledgements of Donations (“the Regulations”), the Library will send them a thank-you letter. The donors may receive the gratuities and services according to their donation       amount as follows:

1.One special platinum library card for donating NT$50,000-NT$99,999.
2.Two special platinum library cards and free library souvenirs for donating NT$100,000-NT$499,999.
3.One special silver-diamond library card and free library souvenirs for donating NT$500,000- NT$999,999.
4.Two special silver-diamond library cards and free library souvenirs for donating NT$1,000,000-NT$4,999,999.
5.Three special silver-diamond library cards and free library souvenirs for donating NT$5,000,000-NT$9,999,999.
6.Five special gold-diamond library cards and free library souvenirs for donating NT$10,000,000-NT$19,999,999.
7.Ten special gold-diamond library cards and free library souvenirs for  donating more than NT$20,000,000.

Article 4

As to those who donate NT$1,000,000 or more to the University Endowment Fund, in addition to processing in accordance the Regulations, the Library will provide them with gratuities and services according to their donation amount as follows:

1.One special platinum library card for donating NT$1,000,000-NT$4,999,999.
2.Three special platinum library cards for donating NT$5,000,000-NT$9,999,999.
3.Five special platinum library cards for donating NT$10,000,000-NT$19,999,999.
4.Ten special platinum library cards for donating more than NT$20,000,000.

Article 5

The rules and effective period of the aforementioned special platinum, silver-diamond, and gold-diamond library cards are as follows:

1.Special platinum library card: May borrow 20 items and the loan period for each item is 30 days. Effective for 5 years.
2.Special silver-diamond library card: May borrow 30 items and the loan period for each item is 30 days. No expiry.
3.Special gold-diamond library card: May borrow 40 items and the loan period for each is 30 days. Also has the rights to reserve discussion rooms and use the Journal Article Delivery Express (charged the same as members of NTU) and personal advisory service. No expiry.

Article 6
Owners of the special card may enter the Library during the opening hours and use the library card to borrow books; the usage and borrowing services of other branch libraries shall be in accordance with their regulations.
Article 7
Owners of the special card have the right to use readers services  (including 24-hour study rooms), all fee-based services are charged the same as members of NTU; readers services of other branch libraries shall be in accordance with their regulations.
Article 8
After the Library and NTU confirm receipt of the donation, the Library will actively contact the donor to issue the special cards and provide services.
Article 9
If the special card is lost, the owner may apply to the Readers Services Division for a reissue.
Article 10
Other matters regarding borrowing or readers services shall be handled in accordance with applicable regulations of the Library.
Article 11
The Directives shall be passed by the NTU Library Committee Meeting and then implemented on the date of promulgation.
