[Announcement] Power Outage at Main Library and Service Suspension from 5:00 PM, Dec. 22nd (Mon.) to Dec. 28th (Sun.) Due to Transformer Replacement Project
The Main Library will be closed for maintenance from 5:00 PM on December 22nd (Monday) to December 28th (Sunday) to accommodate the replacement of the building’s cast resin transformer, in coordination with the Office of General Affairs. During this period, the Main Library will have a power outage and be closed (including the 24-hour study room and discussion area). The library is expected to reopen at 8:00 AM on December 29th (Monday).
During the closure, the following services will be suspended at the Main Library, all branch libraries, and departmental libraries: library website (excluding Medical Library, Law Library, and departmental libraries), library app, mobile library card and digital alumni card, self-service checkout and return machines, space reservation system (excluding Medical Library), access control data management and updates, theses/dissertations upload review and submission, EasyCard and E-payments, alumni borrowing eligibility and refund of deposit, closed-stack book online request (excluding Medical Library), book recommendations, interlibrary loan cards, interlibrary loan services, tri-library loan service applications, long-term locker rentals, lost and found system, prayer room, as well as websites such as NTU Scholars, NTU Theses and Dissertations Repository (NTU TDR), Special Collections website, Digital Archives, Multimedia@online, MetaCat+, NTU topics, Reference Services Blog, and e-Learning website.
The System for Library Information Management (SLIM), electronic journals, and some databases will remain in normal operation. For procedures related to graduation, completion, resignation, retirement, or payment of overdue fees, patrons in the main campus should visit the Koo Chen-Fu Memorial Library in the College of Social Sciences for assistance. Book reservations and renewals can still be processed via SLIM. If you need to borrow or return books, or reading services, branch libraries, Automated Storage and Retrieval System Service Center(ASRS), and departmental libraries will remain open as usual. However, please ensure to use your physical NTU ID to enter the library during the maintenance period, or follow the policy of each library regarding card exchanges.
The Main Library’scleaning day will also be adjusted to the closure time of 5:00 PM on December 22nd (Monday) (including the 24-hour study room and discussion area). Please pay attention to the adjusted closing time and make sure to take your personal items with you in advance. We apologize for any inconvenience caused during the closure and appreciate your understanding. Should there be any changes, please stay updated with the latest information from the library.
