Article 1 |
The National Taiwan University (NTU or “the University”) Library (“the Library”) formulates the NTU Library Directives Governing Applications for Admission to the Library by Gifted High School Students (“the Directives”) to allow gifted high school students to utilize the resources held by the Library. |
Article 2 |
Eligibility:
- Gifted students who are currently enrolled at a public or private high school and who are taking part in an international competition.
- Students who are currently enrolled at a public or private high school and who are supervised under a research project led by a principal investigator who is a full-time faculty member of the University.
- High school students who have been admitted to the University through an admissions application or screening.

Article 3 |
Application and inquiry hours:
9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Students may enter the Library at any time during its opening hours.

Article 4 |
Application method:
- Gifted students who are currently enrolled at a public or private high school and who are taking part in an international competition may apply to enter the Library by having their affiliated high school submit a letter to the Readers Services Division detailing their name, class, the reason for applying, duration of access, and contact information.
- Students who are currently enrolled at a public or private high school and who are supervised under a research project led by a principal investigator who is a full-time faculty member of the University may request access to the Library’s resources by having a faculty member submit an application.
- Entry into the Library shall require prior approval. The Library does not accept walk-in applications or retroactive applications.
- High school students who have been admitted by the University through an admissions application or screening may apply to enter the Library by presenting an admissions letter issued by the University or the unified placement admissions notice (for admissions through screening).

Article 5 |
Entry method:
- Visitors shall present their high school student ID or national ID card and fill out a personal information form for verification.
- Visitors may not enter the Library with backpacks or their own books.
- Visitors may only use the reading areas for information search, and may not use any study rooms located in the Library.
- Upon entry, visitors shall comply with all applicable regulations of the Library. Violations shall be handled in accordance with the Library’s Regulations Governing the Handling of Patron Violations.

Article 6 |
The Directives shall be passed by the Library Affairs Meeting and then implemented. The same shall apply when amendments are made. |
