Article 1

The National Taiwan University (NTU or “the University”) Library (“the Library”) formulates the NTU Library Directives Governing the Use and Management of the Automated Storage and Retrieval System Service Center (“the Directives”) to ensure patrons’ right to use services provided by the Library’s Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) Service Center (“the Center”) in a fair manner and to maintain a quality library environment.

Article 2

The Center’s services shall be available to the NTU faculty, staff, and students, and to non-NTU persons. Non-NTU persons shall be 18 years of age and above in order to enter the Center. Students of higher education institutions under the age of 18 who hold a valid student ID card shall be exempt from the preceding restriction.

Article 3

The Center shall announce its opening/closing hours and closed/maintenance days with a separate notice.

Article 4

Library patrons who wish to use the Center’s resources shall either apply at the counter in person or reserve the desired item(s) through the Library’s Catalogue System. Library patrons who fail to pick up a book within two days (excluding holidays and days when the Library is closed) of reserving it shall be deemed as having forfeited the reservation, in which case the next person on the reservation waitlist will be notified. Article 8 Other matters related to the loans or use of Library resources shall be subject to the Library’s Borrowing Rules.

Article 5

The Center’s seats and equipment are intended for patrons using ASRS resources only and may not be used for any other purposes.

Article 6

Food and beverages are prohibited throughout the Center. Matters not addressed herein shall be subject to the Library’s Regulations Governing the Handling of Patron Violations. If patrons in violation refuse to correct their behavior despite warnings from the Library, they may be escorted off the premises by the staff immediately.

Article 7

The Directives shall be passed by the Library Affairs Meeting and implemented on the date of promulgation.
