1. Are there any branch libraries or departmental libraries in addition to the General Library?
 

Apart from the General Library, the University Library system also include the Medical Library, located in other campuses.

There are seven departmental libraries in the main campus, namely, libraries for the departments of mathematics, physics, chemistry, atmospheric sciences, oceanography, biochemistry and library & information sciences, and one College Library of Law.

2. Are NTU faculty, staff, and students allowed to borrow books from all branch and departmental libraries? Can books borrowed from one library be returned through another?
 

Branch and departmental libraries are open to NTU faculty, staff, and students. For the library service hours, please refer to NTU Library hours webpage.

All books that are “available” according to the online catalog may be borrowed. Books may be borrowed from one library and returned to another including the General Library, the Medical Library and the other departmental libraries in NTU.

3. Who is allowed to use the study rooms in the General Library?
 

Study rooms are open to NTU faculty, staff, students and alumni.  During examination periods, however, the alumni are not allowed to use the study rooms.

4. How can I recommend a book for the Library to purchase? How does the Library decide whether or not to buy the book?
 

On NTU Library’s homepage, Please click on Books Recommendation System on NTU Library’s homepage, and log in the system using your computer center email account.
